Royal Chundu 4

It was a family reunion…

A coming together of all the faces that make up our extended Zambian tribe. A reunion not only to celebrate our new journey, but to reconnect with each other. Because, as much as there is a time for action and progress, there is a time to reunite and retreat.

On our private stretch of the Zambezi, there has been much change. The seasons change constantly, from the rise and fall of the river itself, the landscape it conceals and reveals, to the different moods of the Victoria Falls upstream. We took our cue from nature and changed with the seasons. It was our time of action, of progress, and it has seen the launch of a whole new Royal Chundu experience. As well as being named Zambia’s Leading Safari Lodge 2015, we’re celebrating a new look for both our River and Island Lodge, at the hands of the design team at Artichoke, and a brand new website to complement our transformation.

We’d love you to take a look for yourself, to discover…

The seasons having changed, it was time for respite. One rare, quiet evening at River Lodge last week, we took a moment to reunite our tribe, to honour its members with a special first-time boma dinner. We wanted to give our staff a chance to sit down and enjoy the makishi dancers and barbecued meals that our travellers exprience. A chance to be served for a change and to immerse in the beauty of Royal Chundu.
