Chobe National Park
Where Elephants Roam
A short 90 minute drive from the Victoria Falls, it’s possible to visit Botswana’s Chobe National Park on a day tour from Royal Chundu or as part of a longer tour visiting other parts of Southern Africa. And it is well worth the visit… Set in northern Botswana, near the town of Kasane, Chobe National Park has possibly the largest population of elephant on the African continent and is brimful of other game too – including an abundance of birdlife and many of Africa’s great predators, from wild dogs to hunting lion prides. It is considered one of the best wildlife and conservation areas in southern Africa. Witness great curtains of snorkelling elephants crossing the Chobe River or splashing around on the shores. Look out for hippos and crocodiles camouflaged in the thick riverine vegetation and behold the inspiring fishing skills of the rare African skimmer.
