Zambia & Malawi

Great Rivers to Great Lakes

The Route Less Travelled

We invite you to explore Zambia’s other highlights, starting with us on the Zambezi River and your own Victoria Falls adventure, and then heading off into the remote South Luangwa valley for a riverside safari. Explore the region from the unique Chinzombo Lodge, on the banks of Luangwa River. End your journey in Malawi, a destination less frequented by travellers, and all the more special for it. Just across the border, you’ll stay at the luxurious beachside lodge of Kaya Mawa, set on Likoma Island in Lake Malawi.

Chinzombo, South Luangwa

Your next part of the journey takes you to the Luangwa River, one of the major tributaries of the Zambezi and one of Zambia’s biggest rivers. Here, on the riverbank under the shade of gigantic, ancient evergreens, is Chinzombo… with six beautifully designed villas, each with its own private pool, overlooking the river and its wild animals that call the region home. Spend a few nights exploring the region on game drives and walking safaris that take you up close to Africa’s wild heart.

Kaya Mawa, Malawi

From bush to beach, head for the beautiful Kaya Mawa, set on the tiny Likoma Island, in the middle of Lake Malawi. Spend a few restful days in one of the top ten ‘Most Romantic Places in the World’, as named by Conde Nast, a beach lodge that has also gained the attention of Tatler in their top 101 Hotels in the World. This is one of the best beach getaways in Africa, with a myriad of activities to experience in the surrounding crystal waters, such as snorkelling, scuba diving and sailing. Go mountain biking or meet the local communities that Kaya Mawa works so closely with.
